【晋级形势】
拿到排位赛前八，从而避免两场附加赛，直接进入淘汰赛，是利物浦最后两场排位赛的目标。
本轮已有半数球队赛完，少赛一场的利物浦目前排名第11，本场如果客场击败马赛，晋级前八的形势将非常有利，否则最后一轮将压力陡增，虽然利物浦最后一轮在主场且对手较弱（卡拉巴赫）。
【萨拉赫大概率首发】
本场利物浦将迎回从非洲杯归来的萨拉赫，他昨天已经参加了球队训练，斯洛特表示：“在萨拉赫缺席期间，利物浦在防守和创造机会方面做的不错，如果有萨拉赫回归，会帮助球队更好的把握这些机会。所以我很高兴他回来了，能创造机会固然好，但人们只通过结果评判我们，希望我们既能创造机会、又能把握机会，同时在防守中又不给对方机会。”
斯洛特另一个为萨拉赫归来感到高兴的原因是：“本赛季我只有两个真正的边锋，一个萨拉赫一个加克波。虽然维尔茨和弗林蓬也能打边锋，但如果你问维尔茨自己最喜欢的位置，那他一定不会说是边锋。”
斯洛特还强烈暗示萨拉赫明天会首发：“如果你们认为我和萨拉赫现在还有问题，那么你们看看明天的首发阵容吧。”
【科纳特有可能缺席】
但本场科纳特有可能缺席，他因为家事没有和球队一起出征马赛，斯洛特表示，今天会再次跟他沟通，以确定能否参加这场比赛。
但即便能上场，至少缺席了最近两天训练的科纳特状态就更让人担心了，好在戈麦斯目前是可以上场的状态，远藤航上一场已经进入了比赛大名单。
【斯洛特回答最“离奇”的问题】
斯洛特在发布会上还被提问了一个非常尴尬甚至有点被冒犯的问题，有记者问：“我忍不住要问，你对于阿隆索与利物浦的传闻怎么看？你对此感到很受伤吗？听到球迷的嘘声让你压力更大了吗？也许你和阿隆索已经聊过了？也许他给你打电话了吗？”
斯洛特半开玩笑自嘲道：“是的，他给我打电话了，他跟我了解这支球队的情况，因为六个月后他将接替我的职位。也许会更早，也许就是明天。”

【本赛季一直遭遇各种打击，但球员们的精神值得尊重】
斯洛特还在谈到索博斯洛伊上一场罚丢的点球时表示：“那是他最近22到23个点球中第二次罚丢，这发生在这个赛季可能不是巧合。每一次（刚看到希望就立即遭受打击），比如当伊萨克进球后，我们觉得他找到状态了，结果他伤停三个月；当我们对阿森纳踢了一场很好的比赛后，最后一分钟布拉德利重伤又让我们很难过；对富勒姆我们一度补时3-2领先，结果又被绝平；对利兹联也是最后时刻被绝平。”
“我们一直不停遭遇这样的时刻。但是这支球队本赛季和上赛季已经无数次证明，在困境中我们可以卷土重来。这家俱乐部也无数次证明，即便是本赛季这么多的打击，在一些长期伤病导致无法更多轮换的情况下，这些球员们每场比赛中都拿出了值得尊重的精神状态，而索博斯洛伊是其中之一。”
