周一，国际足联宣布，国足将在三月参加FIFA系列赛，将与澳大利亚、喀麦隆、库拉索同分一组。
国际足联在公告中表示，“继2025年11月宣布扩大赛制后，2026年FIFA系列赛将有48支国家队参赛，分为12个小组，每组4队，在3月和4月的国际比赛窗口期间进行。共有48支参赛球队，占国际足联211个会员协会近25%，意味着全球足球大家庭近四分之一的成员将参与其中。”
国际足联系列赛是国际足联新推出的赛事，2026年也就是第二届国际足联系列赛将在3月进行。首次参加这一赛事的国足将参加澳大利亚赛区的比赛，对手包括澳大利亚、喀麦隆、库拉索。
值得一提的是，澳大利亚、库拉索均为2026年世界杯参赛球队，喀麦隆则是非洲老牌劲旅，目前排名第56位。在国际足联系列赛上，邵佳一将迎来执教国足之后的正式比赛处子秀。
在世预赛18强赛结束之后，国足仅参加了东亚杯。自从7月15日战胜中国香港队以来，国足一直没有参加任何比赛，这导致国足目前国际足联排名仅为93位。
